"Our objective with The Boondocks continued to be a modest one: to design and build the most fitting course possible on this rundown Nate Fish farm. And to do it with the least possible disturbance to this land. We wanted to produce here a links that fit so comfortably into the place that it would feel as if it had always been there."

-Bill Haney
Chasing Dreams in the Boondocks

Crofton Creek Press was founded in 1999 with the goal of publishing books that will have a positive effect on people’s lives. Whether by living harmoniously with nature, mankind, or one’s self, our books are aimed at making a difference.

Situated in northern Michigan on 72 acres of land at the headwaters of the Boardman River, Crofton Creek Press is far from the usual centers of publishing and close to good trout fishing and bird hunting. Here the closest neighbors are deer and grouse, loons, badgers, and bears. It is a good, quiet place to work and an inspiration for creating books that will make the world just a little more habitable for us all. We hope you enjoy our first offerings and come back often to see what new works we have planned.

Anyone who has ever fantasized about fulfilling a lifelong dream will want to read the latest Crofton Creek Press book Chasing Dreams in the Boondocks: A Golf Course Comes to Life. And if you’ve ever picked up a five iron or a putter, you’ll love it even more. Author Bruce Felton described it this way: “Boondocks is, more than anything else, a story about family, friendship, hope, and persistence. It is by turns moving, funny, and uplifting, and one of the most compelling reads to come down the fairway in a long time.”
